This book is honest, clear and often humorous. it offers support and comfort to children and is an invaluable resource for their family, school and the wider community.
Dr Lucy Blunt is a Clinical Psychologist and has worked with children and families since 1990, including working for the NSW Department Community Services, the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the Sydney Children's Hospital and in private practice.
Eloise Osborn is an 11 year old girl whose Mum wrote this book. Eloise volunteered to do the illustrations so that other children can learn about what it is like to have a mother and family go through breast cancer treatment.
"One of the most difficult conversations an oncologist has with young women with breast cancer revolves around "What do I tell the kids?" The need for clear, age appropriate information that leaves room for hope is vital for families coping with the crisis. This book, factual, engaging and witty, will be a fantastic resource for all who care for the children of women with breast cancer" Associate Professor Fran Boyle, MBBS FRACP PhD OAM Director, Patricia Ritchie Centre for Cancer Care and Research University of Sydney at the Mater.
